Abstract
The program is implemented by Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI) in collaboration with various local and international organizations. The ESP focuses on improving water management and sanitation services in several regions, including North Sumatra, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and Eastern Indonesia. The program's objectives include increasing access to clean water and sanitation services, improving water quality, and promoting sustainable water management practices. To achieve these objectives, the ESP implements various activities, such as infrastructure development, capacity building, and community engagement. In the first quarter of 2009, the ESP achieved several milestones. In North Sumatra, the program implemented a water supply system in the city of Medan, benefiting over 10,000 residents. In Jakarta, the ESP conducted a water quality monitoring program, which identified several areas with high levels of contamination. In West Java, the program implemented a sanitation program in several villages, resulting in a significant reduction in open defecation. In Central Java, the ESP conducted a training program for local government officials on water management and sanitation. The ESP also implemented a water and sanitation program in Eastern Indonesia, which aimed to improve access to clean water and sanitation services in several districts. The program achieved a significant increase in water coverage, from 50% to 80%. The ESP's progress is monitored and evaluated through regular monitoring and evaluation reports. The program's achievements are also recognized by various stakeholders, including local government officials, local communities, and international organizations. The ESP's success is attributed to its collaborative approach, which involves local communities, local government officials, and international organizations. The program's focus on capacity building and community engagement has enabled local communities to take ownership of water and sanitation services. The ESP's achievements are also recognized by various stakeholders, including local government officials, local communities, and international organizations. The program's success has also led to the development of new partnerships and collaborations with local and international organizations.
