Abstract
The alliance aims to promote the expansion of internet services and financial services, as well as digital and financial literacy. The alliance is supported by USAID, with a perspective of action until the end of 2022. It encourages the achievement of its goals through the participation of private companies in the fields of information and communication technologies (TIC) and the financial sector. To fulfill its purpose, the alliance implements two key components: "Conectividad y Herramientas Digitales" (Connectivity and Digital Tools) and "Acceso y uso de servicios financieros rurales" (Access and use of rural financial services). During the fiscal year 2018, the alliance made significant progress in achieving its goals. In the "Conectividad y Herramientas Digitales" component, 1,886 people received digital training, with 54.9% being women and 45.1% being men. The alliance also mobilized $359,129 in private investment to expand internet services, and 2,436 people were sensitized about the importance of connectivity and digital tools. In the "Acceso y uso de servicios financieros rurales" component, the alliance achieved significant results, including the mobilization of $1,520,027 in new financial services, with $1,520,027 in credits and $3 million in savings. The alliance also trained 2,904 people in financial literacy, with 54.9% being women and 45.1% being men. The alliance also conducted various activities during the period, including a visit by a delegation of USAID and the American Embassy to the Telecentro de Campo Verde in the Ucayali region, and the launch of the alliance at the national level in the Museo Nacional de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia del Perú. The "Conectividad y Herramientas Digitales" component has three lines of action: the implementation of business plans for the sale of internet services, the implementation of a deployment plan for internet services, and the generation and strengthening of internet services. The alliance has installed fiber optic lines for internet access in Tingo María, Tocache, Pucallpa, Tarapoto, and Juanjuí, and has accredited CEDRO, the leader of the alliance, as a "Centro de Soporte de Academias Cisco", which will allow the alliance to accompany educational institutions that incorporate the "Cisco Networking Academy" programs. The alliance has also participated in various activities, including the "Academy Day" of Cisco, a course on "It Essentials" for promoters of the alliance in the region of Huánuco, and a course on "Get Connected" in the locality of Tingo María. The alliance has also delivered certificates in the locality of Tarapoto and has taught a course on digital literacy in the telecentro of Tarapoto.
