Abstract
The event was organized by the Consorcio Dominicano de Competitividad Turística (CDCT) with the support of the USAID under the terms of the Agreement of Cooperation No. AID-518-A-12-00001. The event featured various activities, including exhibitions, workshops, and presentations by local tourism businesses and organizations. A total of 89 responses were collected through an online survey, which aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the event in promoting tourism and gathering feedback from attendees. The survey results indicated that 85% of respondents had not attended the Feria Aventúrate 2013, suggesting that the event was a new initiative. The primary purpose of the visit for 80% of respondents was to learn about projects and destinations for future visits. The majority of respondents (72%) reported that they had discovered new tourism projects and destinations during the event. In terms of the overall experience, 79% of respondents rated the event as "good," while 11% rated it as "regular." The most common criticisms were related to the limited space and number of exhibitors, as well as the need for better organization and communication. The survey also collected feedback from exhibitors, with 50% of respondents indicating that they had participated in the event. The majority of exhibitors (67%) reported that the event had been an improvement over the previous year, while 33% considered it to be the same. The Feria Aventúrate 2014 was deemed a success by the organizers, with many respondents expressing their satisfaction with the event and its potential to promote tourism in the Dominican Republic. However, there were also suggestions for improvement, including the need for more space and exhibitors, as well as better organization and communication. The event's organizers and participants expressed their commitment to continuing and improving the Feria Aventúrate in the future, with the goal of making it a premier event for promoting tourism in the Dominican Republic. The event's success was attributed to the collaboration between the CDCT, USAID, and local tourism businesses and organizations, which worked together to create a unique and engaging experience for attendees. The Feria Aventúrate 2014 served as a platform for promoting the Dominican Republic's tourism industry, highlighting its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and diverse range of tourism products and services. The event's success demonstrated the potential for tourism to contribute to the country's economic development and social well-being. The survey results and feedback from attendees and exhibitors provided valuable insights into the effectiveness of the event and identified areas for improvement. The organizers and participants will use this information to refine and expand the Feria Aventúrate in the future, ensuring that it remains a premier event for promoting tourism in the Dominican Republic.
