Abstract
The program focuses on providing training and support services to enhance the employability and social inclusion of these individuals. The project's value is $8,802,623.00, and it operates from September 27, 2005, to September 30, 2014. The program's quarterly performance report for the period from October 1, 2011, to December 31, 2011, highlights several key achievements. In terms of IR 1.1, the program has made significant progress in implementing a package of curricular and extra-curricular activities that meet market needs. An M&E officer was recruited, and a checklist tool was developed to quantify soft skill levels of students. All newly recruited students used this checklist to establish a baseline value for future comparison. The program has also made progress in IR 1.2, with CRS and ITTP schools setting up a scholarship system to demonstrate sustainability. However, the recruitment of a fundraising consultant to build ITTP schools' capacity to raise funding to sustain the program is still pending. In terms of IR 2.1, MOET policy makers are committed to integrating ICT into guidelines for implementation. CRS worked with MOET steering committee leaders and secretariat members on detailed planning of project activities relating to developing ICT tools and pilot in school system. The program has also made progress in Output 1.1.1, with Dong A University being selected as the location for the ITTP establishment in Danang. However, the agreement is pending due to the GoV not adding Danang to CRS permit and project approval is also pending. In terms of Output 1.1.2, ITTP students benefit from quality training and support services. One class of 21 students started training at VLU in graphics design in October, and one class of 31 students started training at ESTIH in general IT management in December. The program has also made progress in Output 1.1.3, with alumni at VLU and ESTIH holding meetings to set up online alumni networks. However, the activity was carried out due to delays in getting project approvals. In terms of IR 2.4, SWD, parents, IE teachers, school managers, and policy makers benefit from resources made available online. At least 50 people have downloaded materials from the IE online library, and at least 100 people visit the IE online library per month. Overall, the program has made significant progress in several areas, but some activities are still pending due to delays in getting project approvals. The program continues to work towards its goals of improving the lives of Vietnamese youth with disabilities and enhancing their employability and social inclusion.
