Abstract
The program's purpose was to enhance the capacity of Vietnamese organizations and individuals working in various areas, including economic growth and inclusion, private sector partnerships and innovation, HIV/AIDS, climate change and disaster risk reduction, disability and vulnerable populations, avian and pandemic influenza, education, and environmental remediation. Capacity building efforts in Year 3 focused on administrative, technical, and management interventions, including technical assistance and participant training. The program continued to build on its previous achievements, with major administrative accomplishments including planning meetings with USAID/Vietnam technical teams, subcontracting with local training and consulting company MDF Asia, and submitting the FY2018 Annual Work Plan, updated Monitoring and Evaluation Plan, PCD Fact Sheet, and quarterly reports. The program's participant training programs and technical assistance activities were delivered across five components, including institutional capacity building for target local organizations, common themes/cross-sector VNGOs, institutional capacity building for priority GVN agencies, engagement with selected populations and development issues, and Year 4 work plan development. The program's activities were designed to better achieve program objectives and improve the capacity of Vietnamese organizations and individuals. Capacity building efforts were implemented in various sectors, including health, education, and environmental remediation. The program worked with a range of organizations, including the Centre for Marine Life Conservation and Community Development, the Centre of Promotion for Quality of Life, and the Sustainable Health Development Centre.
