Small Grants & Ambassador’s Fund Program

This brings the cumulative total of applications received since the resumption of the small grants program on November 18, 2014, to 475. Province-wise and sector-wise details of received applications are as follows: Punjab received 4 applications, Sindh received 7, Balochistan received 1, KPK/FATA received 4, and Nationwide/ICT received 4. The total number of applications received during the reporting period is 20, with 2 applications returned due to missing information. The Small Grants Program has shared 467 applications with USAID for initial review, while 9 applications were found to have missing basic information and were served non-compliance letters. USAID reviewed 23 applications during the reporting period, bringing the cumulative total of applications reviewed to 403. Province-wise details of applications shared and reviewed by USAID are as follows: Punjab shared 161 applications, Sindh shared 93, Balochistan shared 57, KPK/FATA shared 135, and Nationwide/ICT shared 21. A total of 85 cases were cleared for further processing, with 63 fully processed grant summaries submitted to USAID. Of these, 42 were recommended for award, while 21 were recommended not for award. Six cases were closed with USAID's concurrence, and 16 cleared cases are at various stages of grant summary preparation. Since the resumption of the Small Grants Program on November 18, 2014, USAID has approved 40 grants and declined 17 applications, with 6 cases still in process. The Small Grants Program has cumulatively approved 88 grants under the SGP component. A total of 50 grants have been formally closed upon completion of their grant projects, while 35 projects are currently under implementation at various stages. Three recently approved cases are in the preparation stage for grant agreements. Province-wise details of approved grants, closed grants, and grants at various stages of implementation are as follows: AJK has 2 approved grants, GB has 4, ICT has 3, Baluchistan has 14, Sindh has 18, KP/FATA has 28, and Punjab has 19. The Small Grants Program has disbursed a total of US $11 million, which is 60% of the approved grant funds of US $18.43 million. Province and sector-wise updates on projects and funds approved and disbursed are presented in Annex IV. During the reporting period, the Small Grants Program's field teams and project office staff conducted field monitoring support visits to 8 grantees' organizations in Baluchistan, KPK, Punjab, and Sindh.
