Abstract
The program targets multicultural communities at-risk, infected, or affected by the H.I.V. and AIDS virus. This includes ex-offenders, L.G.B.T individuals, sexually abused, mentally ill, drug abusers, and others. The program aims to provide education on prevention, treatment, and support services for individuals living with HIV and AIDS. The Sounds of Summer project will serve as a primary source for individuals infected and at-risk to access healthcare, community clinics, and support centers in and around the Washington, DC area and abroad. The program will also provide training for farmers, infrastructure development, and market linkage facilitation. The goal is to increase household income among program participants compared to the control group. The program will be implemented in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with a focus on the most under-served communities, including people of color, ex-convicts, homeless individuals, L.G.B.T individuals, and low-income individuals. The program will provide education on prevention, treatment, and support services for individuals living with HIV and AIDS.
