The Tarakhil Power Plant Water Supply System is a critical infrastructure project in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
2014 · 37 pages

Abstract
The project aims to provide a reliable and sustainable water supply system to the power plant, ensuring efficient operation and minimizing downtime. The system will consist of a 1.5 km long water supply pipeline, a 1.2 km long water treatment plant, and a 0.8 km long water storage tank. The water supply pipeline will be sourced from the existing water supply system, with a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters per day. The pipeline will be constructed using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes, with a diameter of 600 mm. The water treatment plant will be equipped with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per day, utilizing a combination of coagulation, sedimentation, and filtration processes. The water storage tank will have a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters, providing a buffer against fluctuations in water supply. The project will be implemented by the Afghanistan Engineering Support Program (AESP), in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Water. The project timeline is expected to be completed within 12 months, with a total budget of $3.5 million. The project will create employment opportunities for local residents, with a workforce of 50 personnel expected to be engaged during the construction phase. The Tarakhil Power Plant Water Supply System is a vital component of the power plant's operations, ensuring reliable and efficient power generation. The project will also contribute to the improvement of the water supply infrastructure in the region, benefiting the local community and supporting economic growth. The project's implementation will be monitored and evaluated regularly, with regular progress reports submitted to the AESP management. The project's success will be measured against key performance indicators (KPIs), including the completion of the project within the scheduled timeline, the achievement of the project's technical specifications, and the satisfaction of the project's stakeholders. The project's impact on the local community will also be assessed, with a focus on the creation of employment opportunities and the improvement of the water supply infrastructure.
