Abstract
The seminar's objectives were twofold: to enable participants to review the various methods used by banks and to facilitate an exchange of views among participants that would lead to a better approach to the problems faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in Côte d'Ivoire. The seminar's program was structured around the main phases of the credit initiation process and the main points to be developed were illustrated by practical cases. The seminar was divided into several sessions, each focusing on a specific aspect of the credit initiation process. The first session dealt with the analysis of the project, which involved identifying the key elements of the project, such as the market, the clients, and the financial requirements. The participants were also introduced to the concept of market segmentation, which involves dividing the market into several segments based on specific characteristics. The second session focused on the selection of the target market, which involved identifying the segments that were most suitable for the bank's lending activities.
