Abstract
The activity was organized by ACDC in collaboration with the Project Management Board "Raising Voices, Creating Opportunities Project - Phase II". The primary objective of the training was to raise awareness and skills of women with disabilities in the prevention of gender-based violence. The training course was implemented in two districts of Que Son and Nui Thanh, with a total of 76 participants, including women with disabilities and family members of persons with disabilities. The participants engaged fully in the training sessions, demonstrating a high level of understanding and participation. The lecturers, who were trainers from the Provincial Organization of Persons with Disabilities, effectively communicated the material, using a systematic and logical approach to convey the concepts. The training covered essential topics such as gender, sex, and knowledge about gender-based violence. The participants not only gained a deeper understanding of these concepts but also had the opportunity to engage in lively discussions and share their experiences related to the content of the class. Activities such as group games, colour card exercises, and situation arrangement helped the participants to visualize and acquire the content effectively. The training sessions were well-received by the participants, who appreciated the trainers' ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. The participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills, which they believed would enable them to better protect themselves from gender-based violence. The training is part of the "Raising Voices, Creating Opportunities" project, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by ACDC in Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, and Quang Nam provinces. The success of the training is reflected in the high level of participation and engagement from the participants. The trainers' effective communication skills and the use of interactive activities contributed to the participants' understanding and retention of the material. The training has provided women with disabilities in Quang Nam province with essential knowledge and skills to prevent gender-based violence, which is a critical step towards promoting their rights and well-being.
