Abstract
The program offers a transport voucher that can be used for a single visit to a designated health facility. In exchange for submitting the voucher, patients receive 50,000 Vietnamese dong. The transport voucher is a crucial component of the SSP, enabling patients to access healthcare services without incurring additional transportation costs. The voucher is filled out by the patient, who provides their name, year of birth, sex, district, and phone number. The patient also indicates the purpose of their visit to the health facility, which may include routine or scheduled visits, unscheduled or emergency visits, picking up medicines, sputum submission, chest X-ray, or other services. TB staff complete the voucher and provide the cash to the patient. The voucher is then stamped and signed by the health facility, confirming the patient's visit. The SSP code and booklet number are also recorded on the voucher. The program's hotline, 1900 633 091 (Press 7), is available for patients to address any questions or concerns they may have. The SSP aims to improve healthcare access and outcomes for patients, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. By providing financial assistance and reducing transportation barriers, the program enables patients to receive timely and effective care. The program's effectiveness is monitored through regular evaluations and assessments, which inform improvements to the SSP's design and implementation. The SSP has been implemented in various districts across the country, with a focus on areas with high TB prevalence. The program's reach and impact are expected to expand as more patients become aware of the available services and benefits. By addressing the social determinants of health, the SSP contributes to the overall goal of reducing TB incidence and improving healthcare outcomes in Vietnam.
