Abstract
The plan outlines the training and mentoring activities to be conducted from October 2019 to May 2020. The plan is divided into four main activities: arithmetic material production and procurement, development and use of coaching and mentoring tools, activities for January 2020 rollout trainings, and arithmetic modules production for the April 2020 training. Each activity is further broken down into specific tasks and timelines. Arithmetic material production and procurement involves the preparation of arithmetic action plans, procurement of materials, and printing of charts, posters, and cards. This activity is scheduled to take place from October 2019 to December 2019. Development and use of coaching and mentoring tools involves the review of existing tools, editing and designing coaching and mentoring tools, and printing copies of the tools. This activity is scheduled to take place from November 2019 to December 2019. Activities for January 2020 rollout trainings include the preparation of guidelines and strategies for training, communication with government and RCEAs on logistics, and preparation of training programs. This activity is scheduled to take place from November 2019 to January 2020. Arithmetic modules production for the April 2020 training involves the procurement of materials, adaptation of modules for Zanzibar use, and printing of teacher and trainers' modules. This activity is scheduled to take place from January 2020 to March 2020. The plan also outlines the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders, including the AIE Math Specialist, AIE Capacity Building Specialist, AIE Procurement, and Regional Chief Education Advisor (RCEA). The training and mentoring activities outlined in the plan are designed to support the implementation of the AIE Activity in Tanzania and to improve the arithmetic skills of teachers and students. The plan is expected to be completed by May 2020. The plan involves the participation of various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MOEVT), the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE), the Zanzibar Institute of Education (ZIE), and the Regional Chief Education Advisor (RCEA). The plan also involves the use of various tools and materials, including arithmetic modules, coaching and mentoring tools, and charts, posters, and cards. The plan is expected to have a positive impact on the arithmetic skills of teachers and students in Tanzania and to contribute to the achievement of the AIE Activity's goals and objectives.
