Abstract
The project's geographic focus was on the Eastern Province, with a primary emphasis on improving early grade literacy instruction. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) was a key partner in the project, and the project aimed to strengthen collaboration and coordination among partners supporting inclusive early grade learning. The project's timeframes were October 2019 to September 2020, with a focus on implementing a coordinated and harmonized national early grade literacy program. The project's recommendations included scaling up the program to other provinces and districts, with a focus on increasing access to quality education for disadvantaged groups. The project's progress was monitored and evaluated through regular monitoring and evaluation (M&E) updates. The project's achievements included the development of a national early grade literacy program, the training of teachers and education officials, and the establishment of demonstration plots and market linkage facilitation. The project's budget was funded by the USAID/Cambodia–All Children Learning Activity, with a total budget of $720,000. The project's lead was Claire Wyatt until September 15, 2020, and Jacob took over as the lead after that date.
