Abstract
The platform focused on finalizing deliverables for the Local Works Border Assessment and the Gender and Inclusive Development Analysis (GIDA) deliverable. The MEL Platform team made revisions to the GIDA deliverable, which was submitted to USAID on April 8, 2020, and approved on April 13, 2020. The platform also prepared a draft work plan and budget for the Caribbean Energy Initiative (CEI) Regional Gender Analysis, which was submitted to USAID on June 12, 2020. The team anticipated that the CEI Gender Analysis would begin in quarter 4. In addition, the platform conducted field assessments for the USAID/DR Local Works Program Design, which included streamlining the report structure and annexes, and developing an executive summary in Spanish. The MEL Platform team continued to manage the contract remotely, with William Cartier as the Chief of Party. The team also conducted recruitment efforts to identify members for the CEI Gender Analysis and added a new associate, Talia Orencio, in anticipation of increased support required for the CEI Gender Analysis and other upcoming projects. The platform submitted the following required deliverables on time: the USAID/DR GIDA Final Report, the PowerPoint presentation of the GIDA summary findings, the USAID/DR Local Works Border Assessment Final Report, and the PowerPoint presentation of the Local Works Border Assessment Summary Findings. The team also managed the budget, with costs incurred totaling $4,616,658, which amounts to 98.25% of the obligated funding of $4,698,990.17.
