Abstract
The BPCP is designed to provide PLHIV with the necessary tools and knowledge to maintain good health and prevent the development of OIs. The BPCP includes a range of products and services that are essential for preventing OIs. These include: 1. Safe Water System (SWS) for prevention of diarrhea: The SWS is designed to provide clean drinking water, which is essential for maintaining good health. 2. Proper hand washing for prevention of OIs: Hand washing is a critical component of preventing the spread of OIs, and the BPCP provides guidance on proper hand washing techniques. 3. Oral Re-hydration Solution (ORS) for prevention of dehydration due to diarrhea: ORS is a critical component of preventing dehydration, which can lead to serious health complications. 4. De-Worming for prevention of intestinal worms: Intestinal worms can cause a range of health problems, and the BPCP provides guidance on how to prevent and treat them. 5. Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLINs) for prevention of malaria: LLINs are a critical component of preventing malaria, which is a major cause of illness and death among PLHIV. 6. Correct and Consistent Use of Condoms for prevention with positives: Condoms are a critical component of preventing the transmission of HIV and other STIs. The BPCP also includes a range of other prevention practices that are essential for maintaining good health among PLHIV. These include: 1. A healthy diet for a healthier and longer life: A healthy diet is essential for maintaining good health, and the BPCP provides guidance on how to maintain a healthy diet. 2. Links between HIV/AIDS and nutrition: The BPCP highlights the critical link between HIV/AIDS and nutrition, and provides guidance on how to maintain a healthy diet. 3. Prevention of malnutrition: Malnutrition is a major cause of illness and death among PLHIV, and the BPCP provides guidance on how to prevent malnutrition. 4. Adherence to clinical services for healthier and longer lives: Adherence to clinical services is critical for maintaining good health among PLHIV, and the BPCP provides guidance on how to adhere to clinical services. The BPCP is designed to be used by Community Agents (CAs) who work with PLHIV in various settings. The CAs will use the BPCP to educate PLHIV about the importance of prevention and to provide them with the necessary tools and knowledge to maintain good health. The BPCP is a critical component of the USAID/E Preventive Care Package for HIV/AIDS Project, which aims to provide PLHIV with the necessary tools and knowledge to maintain good health and prevent the development of OIs. The project is implemented by Population Services International (PSI) in collaboration with various partners. The BPCP is a comprehensive approach to preventing OIs among PLHIV, and it provides a range of products and services that are essential for maintaining good health. The BPCP is designed to be used by CAs who work with PLHIV in various settings, and it provides guidance on how to maintain a healthy diet, prevent malnutrition, and adhere to clinical services.
