Abstract
The organization uses a unique approach to empower gender equality champions to implement interventions in their organizations, providing change management coaching, a customized suite of tools and best practices, academic coursework, and Men's Engagement workshops. By the numbers, Engendering Industries has achieved significant results in promoting gender equality. In 2023, 68% of partners promoted women at the same rate as men or higher. A total of 6,600 women were hired by partner organizations, and 6,300 women were promoted. Additionally, 6,600 young women and girls were enrolled in internships and trainee programs. Partners also reported improved business performance, with 75% of partners reporting a positive impact. Engendering Industries has implemented nearly 950 actions and interventions to increase gender equality in partner organizations. These actions include attraction and talent outreach activities, recruitment and hiring initiatives, onboarding and training interventions, and activities to improve performance management, compensation, and benefits. Partners have also implemented talent and leadership development opportunities, gender equality initiatives to improve retention and employee engagement, and succession planning and promotion interventions. The organization has also supported the creation of policies and grievance management mechanisms to improve gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. Partners have implemented 80 policies to improve gender equality, diversity, and inclusion, and 20 activities to support the roll out, training, and dissemination of these policies. Additionally, 31 interventions have been implemented to improve company performance and reporting, with 13 partners reporting decreases in revenue loss or improved revenue collection after improving gender equality. Engendering Industries has also supported the development of best practices that improve corporate culture and leadership support for gender equality. Partners have implemented 110 best practices, including workshops for middle and senior management on the importance of being a male champion for gender equality. The organization has also supported the development of a blended change management model for improving gender equality. The results of Engendering Industries' work have been significant, with partners reporting improved business performance, increased employee retention, and improved reputation and image. The organization has also supported the development of policies and grievance management mechanisms to improve gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
