Abstract
The project focuses on three main tasks: increasing low-emission land use, strengthening biodiversity conservation, and increasing the resilience of vulnerable communities. Task 1: Increasing Low-Emission Land Use The project has made significant progress in increasing low-emission land use. In Quarter 2, FY19, 2,500 farmers received training in sustainable agriculture techniques, resulting in a 60% increase in crop yields in demonstration plots. The project has also established 15 community-managed forest areas, covering over 1,000 hectares of land. Task 2: Strengthening Biodiversity Conservation The project has made progress in strengthening biodiversity conservation. In Quarter 2, FY19, the project conducted a biodiversity assessment in the Phuoc Son district, which identified several key species and habitats. The project has also established a community-based conservation group, which has been trained in forest patrol and monitoring techniques. Task 3: Increasing Resilience of Vulnerable Communities The project has made progress in increasing the resilience of vulnerable communities. In Quarter 2, FY19, the project conducted a climate vulnerability assessment in the Quang Nam province, which identified several key areas of vulnerability. The project has also established a community-based adaptation program, which has provided training and support to over 1,000 community members. Implementation Challenges The project has faced several implementation challenges, including delays in the delivery of equipment and materials. Gender Equity and Social Inclusion The project has made progress in promoting gender equity and social inclusion.
