Abstract
The program operates in eight districts throughout the Terai region, including Sunsari in the Eastern region, Parsa, Bara, and Rautahat in the Central region, and Kanchanpur, Bardiya, and Banke in the Mid/Far Western regions. The program's geographic focus is on 76 village development committees (VDCs) that were selected for program support based on the severity of flood damage and levels of vulnerability. Within each VDC, clusters of communities considered most vulnerable were prioritized for intervention. The program's implementation is led by Fintrac Inc. in partnership with METCON Consultants and a diverse group of local and national-level NGOs and private organizations. The program's activities include training farmers in new food production technologies, linking producers to markets and input suppliers, addressing infrastructure constraints, and improving awareness of sanitation, nutrition, and gender issues. The program's progress is monitored through a comprehensive performance monitoring plan, which is attached in Annex I. The program's achievements include the completion of all Phase I and II community infrastructure improvement projects, with 37,887 days of temporary employment generated through infrastructure-building activities. Additionally, 15,678 individuals received training across the program's five program components, and 853,404 individuals benefited from the program, with 837,726 receiving assistance from the infrastructure component. The program's updated performance monitoring plan is attached in Annex I, and the program's publications are available on the USAID-NFRP intranet site and the public website. The program's next quarter's priorities include expanding training to farmers in new food production technologies, linking producers to markets and input suppliers, and addressing infrastructure constraints.
