Abstract
The program is implemented by ARD Inc. Sucursal Peru, with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The program's objectives are threefold. Objective 1 focuses on improving the implementation of the Criminal Procedures Code (CPC) for corruption cases, including the development of a baseline study, analysis of participatory training requirements, and reports on the Judiciary's and Prosecution Office's organizational and workflow management redesign and improvements. Under Objective 1, several key deliverables have been submitted, including a baseline study on the implementation of the CPC for corruption cases, an analysis of participatory training requirements and training programs for judges and court staff, and reports on the Judiciary's and Prosecution Office's organizational and workflow management redesign and improvements. Additionally, a strategic plan for CPC implementation on corruption cases and associated monitoring of the achievement of the plan has been developed and approved by USAID. Objective 2 focuses on promoting institutional integrity in the Ministry of Justice (MINJUS) and the Public Ministry (PM). Key deliverables under this objective include the development of an Institutional Integrity Model in MINJUS and PM, as well as training guides for directors and staff. Objective 3 focuses on promoting public understanding of criminal justice reform through a communication strategy. A report on the developed communication strategy for increasing public understanding of criminal justice reform has been submitted and approved by USAID. The program also includes a cross-cutting objective on integrated gender strategy, which aims to promote gender equality and address the needs of women and men in the justice system. An integrated gender strategy has been developed and submitted to USAID. The program's implementation is ongoing, with several deliverables still to be submitted, including reports on the implementation of the Anticorruption Diploma Course, the developed standards/methodologies for calculating and recovering damages in corruption cases, and the developed Simulator to calculate civil damages in corruption cases.
