Abstract
The project will undertake direct interventions and indirect implementation through local partners in all 13 groupements constituting USAID's Priority Zones 1 and 2, except for Walikale. Two additional areas, Kadutu commune in Bukavu city and Kahuzi Biega National Park, will be added to the target areas. The project's operational plan activities will center on internal planning and team building, improving grant management and delivery, and integrating conflict sensitivity in programming. Quarterly planning and team building meetings will be held to review new tools, share lessons learned, and plan for the upcoming quarter. A learning session will be conducted to review project achievements against objectives and reflect on lessons learned. The project will also focus on improving staff development and human resources, including semi-annual team building sessions to focus on staff well-being and team cohesion. Quarterly steering committee meetings will be held to review program updates, security concerns, and challenges. The project's budget reduction has led to a reduction in the number of organizations selected for grants delivery. The project will supplement grants delivery with direct implementation of activities by the program. The project's operational plan activities will be guided by lessons learned from Years 1-3 of project implementation. The project's geographic targeting will be based on a variety of factors, including the nature and volatility of the security context, the presence of engaged community structures, and the level of engagement and interest of communities and local authorities. The project will continue to work closely with local implementing partners to deliver its grants program. The project's operational plan activities will focus on improving grant management and delivery, including quarterly planning and team building meetings and semi-annual team building sessions.
