Abstract
The program aims to improve the lives of youth in Pathway 2, with a specific emphasis on personal development. Module 2 of the program, titled Personal Development, is designed to help participants identify their values, skills, and personal strengths and weaknesses. The module objectives include developing long-term and short-term personal goals, making a plan to reach those goals, and reviewing progress. Participants are also encouraged to identify how they like to learn and strategies they can use to learn new skills. The module includes a pre-module self-assessment, which asks participants to rate their experience and confidence in various skills and qualities. The assessment is designed to help participants identify areas where they need improvement and set goals for themselves. The module also includes a worksheet for identifying values, beliefs, and desirable qualities, as well as a skills and qualities assessment. The skills and qualities assessment asks participants to circle the top 10 skills or qualities they would like to use in a job and rate themselves on a scale from "great" to "needs a lot of work." The assessment is designed to help participants identify areas where they need improvement and develop a plan to reach their goals. The module also includes a session on values and skills, which covers key topics such as values, beliefs, and qualities, as well as skills and qualities assessment. Participants are encouraged to choose the top 5 values and mark them with an X, and to circle the top 10 skills or qualities they would like to use in a job. The USAID Youth Advance Program in Liberia is designed to support the development of youth in Liberia, with a focus on personal development, employment skills, and an enabling environment for improved youth productivity. The program's emphasis on personal development is designed to help participants identify their strengths and weaknesses, set goals, and develop a plan to reach those goals.
