USAID Youth Power Shoonah Janoobiyah Community Asset Mapping Report

The report aims to identify the community's needs and barriers, as well as the services and resources available to the youth. The assessment is guided by youth and is designed to enhance their agency, self-efficacy, and initiative programming. The report is based on data collected through two types of surveys: institutional mapping and community mapping. The institutional mapping survey was used to identify stakeholders and their services, while the community mapping survey aimed to capture the community's needs and barriers. The surveys were conducted in-person by 15 trained youth from Shoonah Janoobiyah, who were split into groups to cover different sections of the community. In terms of health, the report notes that awareness on diseases and nutrition are the most important health-related topics for the youth. The report also highlights the need for healthcare services and equipment, as well as health-related topics such as mental health and substance abuse.
