Abstract
The survey evaluated awareness on an institutional level and gathered information on participants from the perspective of various stakeholders. A total of 468 institutional representatives were interviewed, with 66% from governmental institutions and the rest from Community Based Organizations (CBOs), private, religious, and non-profit organizations. The survey found that 47% of the stakeholders reported being aware of USAID YouthPower activity and interventions, with a higher percentage in the north region. Representatives who were aware of the activity were asked to rate their knowledge on a scale from 1 to 5, with 54% rating themselves as having a high level of knowledge. The most common goals and interventions reported by stakeholders included youth development, youth empowerment and capacity building, teaching youth to volunteer, raising awareness for the community, engaging youth with their community, and implementing youth-led initiatives. The stakeholders' answers were grouped into themes such as youth development, safe spaces for youth, educational environment, health, inclusion, social environment, community services, and other program services. The most common goals reported by stakeholders were youth development, community service, and creating a safe space for youth participants. Comparing to the previous survey, stakeholders are more aware of the actual objective, goal, and interventions of the activity. The survey results also indicated that 53.6% of the stakeholders did not know if they experienced an increase in the number of youth engaging in their institute as a result of USAID YouthPower interventions. However, 30% of the stakeholders reported noticing an increase in the number of youth beneficiaries. The survey also found that 29.5% of the stakeholders reported that the number of youth benefiting from their services was more than 300 participants each month. In conclusion, the survey found that more stakeholders are now aware of USAID YouthPower activity and interventions, with a higher percentage in the north region. The knowledge of those stakeholders was increased by time, with around 54% of the respondents stating that they have a high level of awareness of the activity and its interventions. However, stakeholders still have some misunderstanding in regards to knowing the difference between the goals and the interventions of the activity.
