2021 · 19 pages

Abstract
The report is based on data collected from 400 participants, including residents from the Swaimeh community, through two types of surveys: institutional mapping and community mapping. The surveys aimed to capture a holistic experience of the youth in the community, focusing on six main categories: youth development, educational environment, health, social environment, inclusion, and community services. The report highlights the need for improvement in various youth outlets in the community, including entertainment, organized activities, youth clubs, spaces for youth to gather, and libraries. The majority of participants rated these services as bad or non-existent. Additionally, out-of-school learning services such as knowledge stations, computer training, life skills, English skills, and tutoring were found to be least accessible or non-existent. The report also identifies the lack of private lessons, extracurricular activities, and sufficient employees as top issues in school services. Furthermore, bullying, stray animals, financial reasons, and lack of assistance for people with learning difficulties were identified as significant barriers to education. In terms of health, the report reveals that health education, awareness on diseases, and physical activity are considered very important health topics by the majority of the sample. Environmental problems were also rated as a very important health topic. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges faced by the Swaimeh community, particularly in the areas of youth development, educational environment, and health. The findings are expected to inform the design of initiatives to address these challenges and improve the lives of youth in the community. The community mapping process was guided by youth, designed to enhance their agency, self-efficacy, and initiative programming. The report is constituted from the results of mapping surveys, which are then used to guide the youth during the initiatives design phase. The data was collected in-person from March 2-4, 2021, and the report highlights the need for improvement in various areas, including youth outlets, out-of-school learning services, school services, and health. The report provides a detailed analysis of the community's needs and challenges, including demographic information, such as the distribution of type of institutions surveyed, nationalities, age group, and gender distribution. The report also includes analysis tables and community survey analysis, which provide further insights into the community's needs and challenges. Overall, the USAID Youth Power Community Mapping Report for Swaimeh provides a comprehensive overview of the community's challenges and needs, highlighting the importance of addressing these issues to improve the lives of youth in the community.
