Abstract
The provinces of Ta'izz, Dhamar, and Ibb are among the most affected areas, with soil degradation and limited market access hindering crop yields. Initial assessments conducted in these provinces identified soil erosion and inadequate irrigation systems as primary concerns. USAID's Food Security Program provided funding for these initiatives, which aimed to improve crop yields and increase household income. Farmer training programs emphasized sustainable agriculture techniques, including composting and crop rotation methods. The USAID/OFDA program provided critical support for these initiatives, working closely with local partners to implement the agricultural development projects. The geographic focus of these initiatives was primarily in the southern regions of Yemen, including the provinces of Ta'izz, Dhamar, and Ibb. The projects aimed to improve agricultural productivity and increase household income, with a particular emphasis on supporting women-headed households. The USAID/OFDA program played a key role in implementing these initiatives, working closely with local partners to address the challenges facing Yemen's agricultural sector.
