Abstract
The dam's water levels have fluctuated significantly over the years, affecting crop yields and food security in the surrounding areas. In 2009, the U.S. Government provided humanitarian assistance to Zimbabwe, focusing on agriculture and food security, as well as other critical sectors. The affected areas of Zimbabwe include Manicaland, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West, Masvingo, and Matabeleland North. The U.S. Government, through USAID/OFDA and USAID/FFP, provided assistance to these areas, working with various partners such as the World Food Programme (WFP), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The assistance included emergency food assistance, local food purchase, and protection programs.
