Abstract
The inspection was conducted by Mr. Richard P. Smith, Senior Generation Specialist, and Mr. Abdul Waris Khan, Senior Energy Expert, in response to a formal request from the plant's FARA Coordinator. The purpose of the visit was to verify equipment received by the plant was in accordance with Project Implementation Letter numbers 6, 9, 21, 28, 29, and 30. The inspection focused on six key areas: PIL Number 6, GRC Fan Impellor/Rotor for Unit #5; PIL Number 9, Steam Turbine Parts; PIL Number 21, Economizer Parts for Units 5 and 6; PIL Number 28, 0.4kV Motors for Cooling Tower Fans and Air Preheaters for Units #5 and 6; PIL Number 29, 6.6kV Motors: Boiler Feedwater, Induced Draft Fan, Forced Draft Fan, and Condensate Pump; and PIL Number 30, 6.6KV Switchgear. The inspection team reviewed associated purchase orders and inspected the equipment on site. For PIL Number 6, the equipment was found to be in accordance with specifications as given in Project Implementation Letter number 1, Activity Agreement Number 391-006-AA-MUZ-2012-00. Similarly, for PIL Number 9, the equipment inspected was found to be in accordance with specifications. However, for PIL Number 21, the plant was awaiting the visit of the National Insurance Company Surveyor to open the containers with the equipment, but it was possible to inspect the economizer parts, which were found to be in accordance with specifications. For PIL Number 28, the ordered equipment was found to be in accordance with specifications as given in Project Implementation Letter number 1, Activity Agreement Number 391-006-AA-MUZ-2012-00. However, for PIL Number 29 and PIL Number 30, the plant was awaiting the visit of the National Insurance Company Surveyor to open the containers with the equipment, and partial equipment had been received, with the remaining expected to arrive in July 2013. The inspection report includes photographs of the equipment, including nameplates, containers, and equipment specifications. The photographs provide visual evidence of the equipment and its specifications, which were verified during the inspection. The report concludes that the equipment received by the plant was in accordance with specifications, with the exception of PIL Number 29 and PIL Number 30, which were awaiting further inspection.
