Abstract
The program aims to facilitate proper healthcare waste management and environmental compliance for USAID projects. As of January 2024, the inventory contains information collected on healthcare waste treatment facilities and their location. The inventory includes information on each waste treatment facility, such as facility name, last updated date, technology type, physical address, geographic coordinates, municipality, country, type of facility, owner/operator, processing capacity, type of waste accepted, and contact information. The inventory also includes a list of acronyms used in the document. Benin has several waste treatment facilities, including Hospital Ordre de Malte, which is a hospital-based facility located in Djougou, Benin. The facility uses an incinerator with a processing capacity of 70 kg/hour and accepts non-hazardous solid waste. Burkina Faso also has several waste treatment facilities, including Saphyto, a private company-based facility located in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. The facility uses an incinerator with a processing capacity of 208 kg/hour and accepts hazardous solid waste.
