Abstract
The program aims to improve the quality of education in Liberia by providing a comprehensive and engaging social studies curriculum for students in grades 1-12. The curriculum is divided into 12 weeks, with each week focusing on a specific topic in social studies. The topics covered include geography, climate, natural resources, and physical features of Liberia. The curriculum also includes a glossary of terms, which defines key concepts and vocabulary related to geography and social studies. Geography is a key component of the AQE-ALP curriculum, with a focus on understanding the physical features of Liberia, including its mountains, rivers, lakes, and coastal areas. The curriculum also covers the concept of climate, including the different climatic regions in West Africa and the impact of climate on the environment and human activities. The curriculum includes a range of learning activities, including work sheets, homework assignments, and learning activities that encourage students to think critically and creatively about the topics covered. The work sheets and homework assignments are designed to assess students' understanding of the topics and to provide feedback to teachers on student progress. The AQE-ALP program is designed to be implemented in Liberian schools, with a focus on improving the quality of education and promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. The program is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is part of a broader effort to improve education in Liberia.
