Abstract
The Activity supports institutions that play a key role in the continuous improvement of the criminal justice system, such as State Attorneys General Offices (AGOs) and State Courts. ConJusticia facilitates collaboration between justice sector institutions and other stakeholders, including academia, Bar associations, civil society organizations (CSOs), and the wider public. The Activity's strategic vision is to enable justice sector institutions and actors to effectively fulfill their roles individually, collectively, and sustainably into the future. ConJusticia addresses impunity of high-priority crimes by enhancing the performance and collaboration of justice stakeholders, leading to improved prosecution, increased accountability, and increased citizen confidence in the justice sector's ability to fight crime and protect vulnerable groups. The Activity's approach is based on the findings of the applied Political Economy Analysis (PEA) and the Institutional Maturity Model (IMM) in Year 1 (Y1). ConJusticia's second year of implementation will focus on providing technical assistance with tailored solutions, facilitating collaboration among justice sector actors to improve change management, and promoting strategic initiatives aimed at sustainability and citizen co-responsibility. The Activity's objectives are divided into three main areas: 1. Stronger and more efficient justice sector institutions: ConJusticia will provide technical assistance to support the development of capacities in justice stakeholders, enabling them to effectively fulfill their roles and improve their performance. 2. Improved collaboration between strategic actors of the justice system: ConJusticia will facilitate collaboration among justice sector institutions and other stakeholders to improve change management and improve the overall functioning of the justice system. 3. Sustainable partnerships between actors linked to the justice system: ConJusticia will promote strategic initiatives aimed at sustainability and citizen co-responsibility, enabling justice sector institutions and actors to work together effectively and sustainably into the future. The Activity will be implemented by DAI in close coordination with subcontractors Fortis Consultoría, the Rapid Results Institute (RRI), and Metropolitan Group. The implementation period for Year 2 (Y2) is from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022.
