Abstract
The report is made possible by the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The contents are the responsibility of Making Cents International through YouthPower: Evidence and Evaluation Task Order 1 (YouthPower Learning). The report highlights the progress made in implementing the YouthPower Learning task order, which focuses on creating and managing a YouthPower online platform, establishing and maintaining a cross-sectoral youth learning network, advancing the field of Positive Youth Development (PYD) measurement, building upon the PYD systematic review with the PYD learning agenda, and providing evidence and evaluation support to USAID missions and disseminating research, best practices, and learning in PYD. The YouthPower online platform, managed by Making Cents International, underwent structural and feature changes, including the expansion of content and leveraging the power of the network and user engagement to generate and disseminate content and amplify messages. The platform, which includes YouthPower.org and YouthLead.org, has a hierarchy of effects, with a total of 2,500 resources available on the platform as of September 2019. The cross-sectoral youth learning network, established and maintained by Making Cents International, includes communities of practice, learning grants under contract activities, and the organization of the YouthPower Annual Learning Network Meeting. The network has a total of 19 communities of practice, with updates provided by each community. The network also includes learning grants under contract activities, with a total of 12 grants awarded during the reporting period. The report also highlights the progress made in advancing the field of PYD measurement, including supporting PYD measurement and operationalizing the PYD learning agenda in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to advance the frontier of knowledge about PYD. The report also notes the support provided to capacity-building efforts in PYD, including the development of a PYD learning agenda and the provision of technical assistance to USAID missions. The report includes a financial summary, which highlights the total resources available on the YouthPower.org platform, as well as the total content available on the platform. The report also includes a list of tables and figures, which provide additional information on the progress made during the reporting period.
