Abstract
The study aims to identify the best procedures and methods for determining hemoglobin concentration in population surveys. The protocol outlines the research questions, study design, methods, and sample size calculations for the laboratory study, which will compare the performance of different HemoCue device models with a certified autoanalyzer in measuring hemoglobin concentration using venous and capillary blood samples from women of reproductive age and children under five.
