Asia Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy (EDGE) is a whole-of-government initiative launched in July 2018, designed to grow sustainable and secure energy markets throughout the Indo-Pacific region, as part of the Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS).

Abstract
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) plays a leading role, helping its Indo-Pacific partners expand energy access, promote energy diversification and trade, and strengthen energy security across the region. The initiative focuses on four key outcomes: Energy Sector Transformed to Accelerate Energy Security and Sustainability in the Indo-Pacific Region, Performance of Energy Utilities Improved, Deployment of Advanced Energy Systems Increased, and Regional Integration and Energy Trade Across Indo-Pacific Region Increased. The FY 2021 Summary Report highlights key results and achievements under the Asia EDGE initiative. In South Asia, the report notes that the Bangladesh Advancing Development and Growth through Energy (BADGE) program achieved significant milestones, including the completion of a 230-kilovolt transmission line and the installation of 1,000 solar home systems.
