Abstract
The project aimed to improve the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution system in the Helmand Province. The project was funded by the rpAfa Contract, a contract between the rpAfa Agency for International Development and the BspmCF. The contract was signed in February 2018 and was scheduled to be completed by September 2019. The project was divided into several components, with Component R being the focus of this closeout report. Component R involved the implementation of a new power distribution system in the Handahar area, including the construction of a new substation and the upgrade of existing infrastructure. The project also included the provision of training to Afghan Breshna Perkat staff on medium voltage repairs and the assessment of electrical faults at the Handahar powerhouse. The project was implemented by a team of engineers and technicians from the BspmCF, who worked closely with the Afghan Breshna Perkat staff to ensure the successful completion of the project.
