Abstract
The contract, implemented by Banyan Global and its consortium members, is funded by USAID and aims to provide on-demand, rapid-response, short-term technical assistance to USAID Missions and Bureaus across sectors. The contract's primary objective is to assist operating units in implementing the Gender Equality and Female Empowerment policy as operationalized through Automated Directives System (ADS) 205. The task order also corresponds to USAID gender equality and women's empowerment priorities to provide technical assistance on gender integration to USAID operating units. Banyan Global is helping to incorporate and address specific gender gaps or inequalities throughout USAID's strategic planning, program design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation efforts. The Gender Integration Technical Assistance (GITA) I task order is structured to be flexible and responsive, and may include various activities such as gender analyses for preparation of Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) and Project Appraisal Documents, gender analyses and research at the sector, project, or activity level, desk studies, monitoring and learning plans, and technical assistance to improve the capacity of missions and other operating units to incorporate gender- and inclusive development-related issues. During the quarter of April-June 2021, no activities took place under the GITA I task order. However, regular communications were maintained between Ms. Hansel and Banyan Global throughout the quarter. The mission/bureau contracting the task order is the Bureau for Development, Democracy and Innovation, Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment Hub, with a period of performance from September 7, 2017 to March 6, 2022. The contract's ceiling price is $1,635,287.65, and the current obligated amount is also $1,635,287.65.
