In Indonesia, PCI will continue phasing over program activities in North Sulawesi to local health authorities, while extending activities to the Southeast Sulawesi and Riau provinces. Activities will include: (1) health education of villagers with a focus on children and mothers of childbearing age; (2) training of volunteer community health workers in child survival skills; (3) training of traditional birth attendants with expansion of skills training to include growth monitoring and ORT; (4) training of community health workers to implement and/or coordinate immunization programs; (5) establishment of clinics in each village for children under 5 years; (6) motivation of counterparts and villagers; (7) technical training of counterparts; and (8) promotion and enhancement of the national family planning program.
