Abstract
AMCRA will assemble a delegation of representatives from at least six U.S. firms in the fields of health insurance, health services, hospitals, medical equipment manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. The delegation will visit Poland and Hungary to evaluate such factors as: past experience with private health care; market demand for private health care and health insurance; relevant government regulations; foreign exchange availability; bank lending practices; import controls; management practices of social security medical systems; public sector health entitlements; and constraints to an open health care market. Subsequently, AMCRA will host a workshop in New York City for 50- 80 health industry representatives, whom the delegation will provide a briefing on constraints and opportunities for investments; market assessments; and potential joint venture partners.
