Grant is provided under the Management Training and Economics Education project (1800029) to the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) Consortium to help establish Management Training Institutes (MTIs) at the University of Warsaw in Poland and the University of Veszprem in Hungary.
1991

Abstract
UW and its Consortium associates (New York University, Helsinki University of Technology, and the International Association of Continuing Engineering Education) will work with the two Eastern European universities, other public institutions, and private industry in Poland and Hungary to develop MTIs and associated secondary centers through which faculty and working business managers will be trained in market concepts, business operations and management, and strategic planning. The Consortium will train 70 trainers and managers in each country, who could then train up to 9,800 managers each year, providing a cost-effective, sustainable means to educate large numbers of Polish and Hungarian managers -- who are also potential U.S. business partners.
