AID cooperative agreement no. 306-0211-A-00-0997-00 to The Asia Foundation to support democratic pluralism initiatives among Afghans

Grant is provided to The Asia Foundation (TAF) to support democratic pluralism initiatives in Afghanistan by administering subgrants to Afghan PVOs, including the Muslim Sisters Organization of Afghanistan, the Cultural Council of Afghanistan Resistance, the Writers Union of Free Afghanistan, and others not yet identified.

Abstract

The subgrants will be for activities that promote or strengthen: democratic processes and institutions; freedom of information; human rights; inclusion of the disenfranchised (e.g., women and minorities); expansion of economic opportunities; and the participation of Afghans in international forums. TAF will provide participating PVOs with proposal development support.
