Grant is provided under the Children"s Survival Assistance Program for Nicaragua (5940003) to Project HOPE to provide medical care and other relief to children under age 17 who are victims of the Nicaraguan civil strife.

Abstract
Project HOPE will establish health stations to provide primary health care services (including temporary prostheses) in two, with expansion to at least four, of the seven cease-fire zones. Children with war-related burns, amputations, and other acute medical conditions will be referred to other organizations for care, or if necessary to other Central American countries, or, in the last resort, to the United States. Project HOPE will also supply medicines and medical supplies to other PVO"s working at other private clinics in the cease-fire zones.
