Abstract
(DF/I) to provide medical care and rehabilitation services to Nicaraguan Resistance (NR) combatants and their families, utilizing the existing NR medical care system. DF/I will recruit medical teams (physicians, pediatricians, nurses, technicians, therapists, and dental specialists) and provide supplies and equipment in order to support medical care at four facilities: (1) Yamales, which provides the only care at the border region where most NR forces inside Honduras are located; (2) Aguacate, the main referral center for acute cases; (3) Rancho Grande, the convalescent center for cases requiring physical or psychiatric rehabilitation; and (4) Danli, the referral center for forces in the El Paraiso and La Lodosa areas. DF/I will also refer patients for U.S. care as necessary; provide logistical assistance; and assess the medical needs of the Yatama resistance forces.
