Agreement with Community Systems Foundation (CST) to conduct a study on the influence of community characteristics or contextual factors (i.e., socioeconomic, political, and community characteristics) on the effectiveness of growth monitoring activities.
1986

Abstract
CST will first conduct detailed analysis of recent Indonesian data on household behavior (600 variables) and community characteristics (300 variables). CST will test the findings from this analysis in 2-4 additional settings, possibly in Tanzania, Ecuador, and Thailand. This step will determine whether the contextual characteristics found to be significant in Indonesia also have a significant effect on the success of growth monitoring activities in other countries. Existing data sets on growth monitoring from the selected countries will be used. Based on these findings, CST will develop a model package of services required for a successful growth monitoring program.
