Abstract
The Center will: carry out legal research, and as appropriate, litigation to assist disadvantaged persons or groups in rural areas; develop solutions and legal policies to redress problems faced by farmworkers and their families; publish findings and information in order to influence both academic debate and legislative reform; help human rights groups to understand the problems, legal and others, faced by farmworkers; and strive to develop the basic principles of democracy in rural South Africa. test cases, i.e., those that will have a wide precedent-setting impact.
