Grant is provided to Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR) to provide legal and paralegal services, as well as human rights education, to the rural population of the Karoo area in South Africa through a mobile legal clinic.

Abstract
The mobile legal clinic, to be based at LHR"s Karoo Law Clinic (KLC), will regularly (at least once a month) visit both African and "colored" populations in Burgersdorp, Aliwal North, Hofmeyer, Stynsberg, Middelburg, Nouport, Hanover, Richmond, Murraysburg, Victoria West, De Aar, Philipstown, Petrusville, Carnavon, and Loxton. The mobile clinic will be operated by field workers, who in conjunction with local paralegals, will work to resolve legal problems. More complex issues will be resolved at the KLC, or possibly referred to an attorney.
