Abstract
The NTPCH will implement training workshops, produce a revised training curriculum, and render mediation services to communities in a country in the grip of sociopolitical disorder. NTPCH will conduct a total of 30 training workshops per year to develop negotiation and mediation skills within historically disadvantaged communities. Of these 30 workshops, 20 will train 12 trainers each and 10 will involve a maximum of 20 community leaders on each occasion. Members of civic and political organizations will be encouraged to participate in the training. A committee appointed by NTPCH will revise the training curriculum for the workshops, taking into consideration the current political character of negotiations in South Africa. This work will include preparing two new videos, writing five case studies, and producing new training manuals and study notes. Courses will be evaluated through the use of new course monitoring and evaluation systems to be developed by the committee.
