AID grant no. 306-0211-G-00-1205-00 to the International Rescue Committee for its ongoing female education program among Afghan refugees

The program currently assists some 2,500 female Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Specific activities to be supported include: community-based primary education for girls; the Lycee Malalai Girls" Secondary School; and the women"s English-language program, women"s public administration program, and women"s health educator training program. Activities will include special workshops, conferences, or discussion groups for Afghan women on repatriation; efforts to identify employment opportunities inside Afghanistan for Afghan women graduates of IRC programs; extension of IRC women"s programs inside Afghanistan; and cooperative activities with agencies operating inside Afghanistan.
