AID grant no. 86-1 to CARE/Indonesia to provide partial support for the project entitled `water and sanitation for a healthier environment (WASHES) and dry land farming systems (DFS)"

Grant is provided under the PVO Co-financing Project in Indonesia to CARE to support a two-part project: (1) Water and Sanitation for a Healthier Environment (WASHES); and (2) Dry Land Farming Systems.

1986

Abstract

Under the WASHES component, CARE, in cooperation with indigenous PVO"s, will provide improved water supply and sanitation facilities in 43 villages in West Java, East Java, and Nusa Tenggara Barat by constructing gravity flow systems and installing handpumps. Other activities will be to train government and nongovernment personnel to construct rural community water systems and to promote improved water and sanitation policies.
