AID grant no. 86-5 to Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) to provide support for the project entitled `ADRA child health project in Nusa Tenggara Timur"

ADRA will work with government primary health care centers to: provide training for 80 health and nutrition aides; perform monthly growth monitoring for children under age 5; promote family planning; support immunization activities; train mothers in oral rehydration therapy; distribute Vitamin A supplements biannually; provide health and nutrition education to mothers; promote breastfeeding and proper weaning practices; facilitate community primary health care; and initiate a child-to-child health education program in the schools, covering in particular malnourishment and oral rehydration.
