Abstract
World Education will develop a set of community health education materials in Khmer for use by families with low levels of literacy. The materials will focus on six areas: controlling diarrheal disease and vector borne diseases; safe delivery and care of newborns; breastfeeding; immunization; nutrition; and water and environmental sanitation. World Education will also recruit a team of 20 NGO and community health facilitators and trainers to use these materials in community health education sessions in their ongoing health activities. To ensure maximum coverage, World Education will promote collaboration among the various agencies dealing with health issues at the grassroots level. It will also seek ways to institutionalize the nonformal education process and materials in the ongoing programs of collaborating NGOs.
