1979

Abstract
The project is a follow-on to 2980141. CRS will: (1) help some 60 LCO"s develop and conduct courses for mothers in nutrition, home first aid, and child development; (2) develop lesson plans for courses in first aid and child development; (3) train 205 LCO teachers, including 40 nutrition education teachers, 90 first aid teachers, and 75 child development teachers; and (4) help LCO"s develop records and follow-up techniques to assess course impact on child and family health/nutrition habits. CRS will also check the distribution of Title II P.L. 480 foods and the monitoring of children"s weights to be carried out in connection with the nutrition courses, and conduct follow-up home visits as needed. The project will benefit an estimated 2,500 mothers in the nutrition courses, 7,500 in the first aid courses, and 1,500 in the child development courses.
